Development of a high scale malware scanner for WordPress using Node.js, PHP and some C++. Security research work.
Highlights
- Changed to a security research role. At this position I triaged submissions for the WPScan product, helped drive a bounty program and did original research, thanks to this research I have some CVEs to my name
- Acted as team lead for my team for a year.
- Wrote some core functionality of the new version of the scanner such as switching the scanning engine to use YARA and adding fuzzy scanning capabilities to leverage a database of known malware files.
- Worked on a few open source projects such as the fork of a Node extension that implements YARA bindings.
- Helped with the legacy code integration and maintenance after an acquisition. This legacy code was built on Rails and Go.
